Motorcycle Safety BRC

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Basic Rider Course (BRC) is a two-day “learn-to-ride” training safety program held at our main campus in Ottumwa. Before the start of class, participants must complete a 5-hour online eCourse covering essential motorcycle knowledge. Participants will receive approximately 11 hours of in-person, on-cycle instruction. Requirements and Details:
  • Must be able to balance a motorcycle
  • Valid driver’s license or permit required
  • Riders under 18 need a permit and parent/guardian consent
  • MSF and IA-DOT certificates awarded upon successful completion
Motorcycles are provided. Riders must bring long-sleeved shirt, long pants, over-the-ankle shoes, gloves, eye protection and helmets (limited number available to borrow). Be prepared to ride in all types of weather. Space is limited. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required.

Once the eCourse is distributed, the student will be ineligible for a refund for this class.
