Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high-performance team dynamics and high-quality individual skills. The course includes a series of case scenario practices with simulations that reinforce important concepts.

HeartCode PALS through RQI is a blended learning delivery method for the AHA’s PALS Course. 
HeartCode 2025 PALS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate PALS skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner’s performance and gives learners more control to complete the course at their own pace. . Because of it's adaptive approach learners will usually take need 6-7 hours to finish this portion.  P
roviders may take the course at any time. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode PALS (RQI Part 1) and then when done, contact IHCC to schedule a hands-on skills session with a BLS skills check off (RQI Part 2) which will take approximately 45 minutes. 

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

Please read:  HeartCode PALS through RQI is a blended learning delivery method for the AHA’s PALS Course. HeartCode 2025 PALS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate PALS skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner’s performance and gives learners more control to complete the course at their own pace. Approximately one business day after registration students will receive an email from "RQI Partners and RQI1Stop" advising they have been given a new assignment. Students will use the link in this email to set up their RQI account and begin their on-line course. Students will have one month to finish the on-line portion (Part 1) of the course. Because of it's adaptive approach learners will usually take need 6-7 hours to finish this portion.  Providers may take the course at any time.  Upon successful completion of part 1, students should email ashley.koll@indianhills.edu to schedule their hands on assessment (Part 2). The skills session is completed on campus and may be done Mon-Thur, 7:30am-3:30pm at any time, excluding office/College closures and/or College breaks. This assessment will take approximately 45 minutes. Students have 2 months after completion of the on-line course (Part 1) to complete the hands on assessment (Part 2).
