Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high-performance team dynamics and high-quality individual skills. The course includes a series of case scenario practices with simulations that reinforce important concepts.
HeartCode PALS through RQI is a blended learning delivery method for the AHA’s PALS Course. HeartCode 2025 PALS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate PALS skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner’s performance and gives learners more control to complete the course at their own pace. . Because of it's adaptive approach learners will usually take need 6-7 hours to finish this portion. Providers may take the course at any time. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode PALS (RQI Part 1) and then when done, contact IHCC to schedule a hands-on skills session with a BLS skills check off (RQI Part 2) which will take approximately 45 minutes.
